Full Body Massage in Carpinteria · Carpinteria's Walk-In Full Body Reset

$80 for 30 min · $80 for 60 min · Walk in 9am – 10:30pm, 7 days a week

What is Full Body Massage?

Full Body Massage at Garden Spa is exactly what it sounds like — a complete head-to-toe session that covers your back, shoulders, neck, arms, legs, glutes, and (if you're comfortable) face and scalp. Unlike a 30-minute targeted session that focuses on just back-and-neck, a full body session gives every muscle group attention. It's the choice when you want to leave nothing untouched and walk out feeling completely reset.

Most Full Body sessions at Garden Spa are 60 minutes ($80), which gives roughly 30 minutes face-down (back, glutes, legs from behind, arms) and 30 minutes face-up (front of legs, neck, shoulders, optional face/scalp). For a more thorough experience, the 90-minute Full Body at $120 lets your therapist spend extra time on tight areas without sacrificing coverage anywhere else.

You choose the style — Swedish (gentle, flowing) or Deep Tissue (firm, targeted) — and the therapist applies that style across the whole body. Walk-ins are welcome 9 AM to 10:30 PM seven days a week. If you're not sure between Swedish and Deep Tissue for a Full Body, our front desk will help you decide based on what your body is asking for today.

What to Expect

When you walk in, the front desk will confirm whether you want Swedish or Deep Tissue intensity for the full body, and whether you have any priority areas the therapist should spend extra time on. You can also tell us areas to avoid — common requests include skipping the face, skipping abdomen, or skipping hands.

In your private room, your therapist will step out while you undress to your comfort level and lie face-down under the top sheet. The session typically starts with your back (often the largest area of tension), moves to glutes and legs from behind, then arms. After about 30 minutes, you'll be asked to turn over face-up, and the therapist works on the front of legs, then neck, shoulders, and optional face/scalp.

Throughout the session, the therapist checks pressure and focus, especially when transitioning to a new body area. Tell them if any specific spot needs more or less attention. The pace is unhurried — Full Body is meant to feel like a complete experience, not a checklist of body parts.

After the session, you'll have a few minutes to redress. Many full-body guests describe a 'floaty,' deeply relaxed state for 30-60 minutes afterward. Drink water, take it easy for a couple of hours, and avoid intense exercise that evening. Most guests sleep deeply that night and wake up feeling notably looser the next morning.

Our Therapists

Every Full Body session at Garden Spa is performed by experienced female therapists trained in both Swedish and Deep Tissue styles, plus the pacing and transitions specific to full-body work. Full Body is more demanding than targeted work — the therapist needs to manage timing carefully so every area gets meaningful attention without rushing. Our team has 6+ years of professional spa experience and is trained to read body language and adjust pressure across the session.

Full Body Massage FAQ

30 minutes gives you back, shoulders, and neck only — perfect as an after-work reset, but it skips your legs, arms, glutes, and face/scalp entirely. 60 minutes is a true full body session — every major muscle group gets at least 5-7 minutes of attention. If your goal is comprehensive relaxation rather than targeted spot work, 60 minutes is the right call. The price gap ($60 vs $80) reflects the additional 30 minutes of dedicated time and full-body oil application.
Tipping is based on the service price, not the duration specifically. The standard tip in California is 15-20% of the service total. So for a $60 30-minute session, $10-15 is standard, and for an $80 60-minute Full Body, $15-20 is standard. Tips are appreciated in cash but never required. If you've had a great session and want to acknowledge the therapist beyond the standard tip, that's always welcome but never expected.
Yes — and we encourage it. Common customizations: 'skip the face,' 'extra time on lower back,' 'lighter pressure on legs,' 'no scalp,' or 'include hands.' Just tell the front desk or your therapist before the session. The default Full Body covers everything, but it's your hour, and we'll shape it to what your body actually needs.
Showering before is appreciated but not required. After the session, most guests prefer to leave the oil on for a few hours to absorb into the skin — it acts as a moisturizer and you may sleep more deeply with it on. If you're heading straight to dinner or work, a quick rinse at home is fine. Avoid hot baths immediately after Deep Tissue Full Body, since heat plus deep work can sometimes intensify next-day soreness.
For most adults, yes — 60 minutes is the sweet spot. Each major muscle group gets 5-10 minutes of focused work, which is enough to release surface tension and create real relaxation. If you have a specific area that needs deeper work (chronic shoulder knot, very tight hamstrings, etc.) along with full body coverage, the 90-minute session at $120 is worth it — it gives the therapist 30 extra minutes to work that priority area without sacrificing coverage anywhere else.
Yes — and many guests do, especially on the face-down portion when the session is Swedish-style. Falling asleep during a massage is actually a sign that your nervous system trusts the environment and the therapist, which is exactly the goal. The therapist won't take it personally — it happens daily. They'll wake you gently when it's time to turn over or when the session ends. If you do fall asleep, you may feel slightly disoriented for a minute when you get up; sit on the table for a moment before standing.
Once a month is the most common cadence for ongoing wellness. If you're recovering from a stressful period, every 2 weeks for 4-6 weeks is excellent for resetting your baseline. For chronic issues that benefit from frequent work, weekly is reasonable in the short term. The honest answer: more is better up to a point, but most adults find that monthly Full Body keeps tension manageable and feels like a meaningful reset rather than a routine errand.
